Ye Radicals of Edinburgh

Ye Radicals of Edinburgh -
   Ye who have hearts to dare -
As patriots come forward,
   And all your wrongs declare:
Tell the Whig and Tory knaves
   You view them as your foe;
And proclaim, to their shame
   What all the world should know,
   What all the world should know,
   What all the world should know -
That they have but oppressors been, -
   Their works still prove them so.

Ye Radicals in union
   Your banners now display,
And give a demonstration -
   ThereÕs danger in delay.
Declare to Whig and Tory knaves
   You view them as your foe;
And proclaim, to their shame,
   Their doings dark and low
   Their doings dark and low
   Their doings dark and low
They both have but oppressors been,
   Their works their virtue show.

Ye Slaves!  ye Non-electors!
   Now form your grand brigade!
And reason with the Tyrants
   Till they are prostrate laid.
The Whigs and Tories both are knaves,
   As all their actions show
And you shall continue slaves
   If they can keep you so
   If they can keep you so
   If they can keep you so.
Then he that truly would be free
   Himself must strike the blow!
