% A collection of Highland tunes taken from an early nineteenth
% century collection by Alexander McKay of Islay (b.1775). These
% are all unfamiliar to me from anywhere else, though I haven't
% made a systematic effort to trace them. They're interesting in
% part because of the simplicity of the settings, none of the arty
% twiddles found in Simon Fraser's collection. (They have bass
% lines for the piano as well; mostly one-finger stuff, four notes
% to the bar, no triads). The collection contains other tunes,
% mostly either dull or well-known from earlier sources. I haven't
% modernized the Gaelic spelling.
